Ambitions
The ambition of the UK Instant is to:
- Ensure staff fully understand equality and diversity, current local issues and their responsibility with regard to equality requirements
- Empower staff to challenge prejudice and to identify reasonable adjustments in their own work areas
- Include equality and diversity training as a mandatory requirement for all staff
- Designate Equality Champions throughout the organisation and to introduce additional training to support these roles
- Equip managers to promote the cultural and behavioural changes that will ensure equality and diversity is fully embedded within day-to-day business
- Provide an environment for both staff and patients that is free from all forms of discrimination
- Continually collect feedback from staff on matters relating to equality and diversity
